Microchip placement and permanent tattoo applications are the only two forms of legal identification for pets. Please, give your pet the best Christmas gift available, the gift of being returned to his family if lost. A microchip is placed via an injection under the skin and between the shoulder blades. No sedation is needed and your pet will be enrolled in a national registry, so whether your pet escapes your back yard or is lost on vacation, any veterinary office, animal shelter or rescue group can identify your pet and you as the owner, returning your pet safe and sound. Remember, 90% of all pets that are lost that have identification find their way back home, 90% of pets with no identification never return home.  |
